Project:Senior Play Promotion Game

Introduction

key word: promotion
This website game was top aimed at promoting the incoming Senior Graduation Play in our school. At the same time, it tended to make schoolmates associated with the characters in this play in advance.

I was invited to take part in the senior play administration group and the team work processing started from mid-April. The group discussed and worked out how to promote this play to more students or other than students. Therefore, our team got many brainstorming ideas in the session and I volunteered to take charge of this project by producing a Website game to make people familiar with four primary characters of this Play.
At the beginning, the group identified the following 3 points under our most consideration.

•Lead-time constraint on production
•Target game users’ need and interest
•Coding technical capacity constraint

• Lead-time constraint on production Given the time pressure from the Graduation Show to be on in the mid of May, we didn’t have much time. Precisely the lead-time for completing this complement game was scheduled for 2 or 3 weeks. After I read through the script of the Play, I drafted out the associated game script in a week. During that short period I back and forth verified with my group leader if these could be conflicting to the characters or if these were not that eye-catching.

• Target game users’ need and interest Because of the NTHU students as the main target market for our game by nature, we should not make the game play too much time consumption. The NTHU students are quite often tied up with the homework, paper, and presentation materials. It is not likely to spend half an hour or even an hour on this. As the result, It is assumed that 2 to 5 minutes long would be ideal. Also, the content of the game should be more relevant to the NTHU students’ campus experience. .

• Coding technical challenge I have been quite experienced in the website design, but it was still challenged due to the intense time investment to complete the whole package by myself alone while I was also taking the mid-term exams. Therefore, after the quick gap analysis, I seek the help from another group member, Yun-Han Lee (CS student), to share the coding and programming work together.

Finally, our team on time delivered this introductory game ahead of the Play. The mode of this game is more in warm brown color in alignment with the play style- literary youth style and with a little nostalgia atmosphere. The game was much more welcome than planned. The advertising effect was amazing and indeed workable. Fortunately, both the Game and the Play turned out the big and positive popularity.
